All Hail the EA Vault: Dungeon Keeper is Back!

After the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch launch of Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatara couple of weeks ago, this week at gamescom we revealed another classic from the EA Vault that's been reinvented for mobile. Horny and his minions are back in a twisted new mobile take on the 1990s cult strategy game, Dungeon KeeperDungeon Keeper provides an addictive mix of strategic building and tower defense; it’s a ground-breaking mobile experience that’s, well…diabolically fun to its core.

As the hands-on overlord of your very own subterranean lair, you'll design a devilish dungeon with expertly laid tunnels and traps, unearth treasures, and collect and command minions in a battle to dominate the ever-expanding underworld.  You’ll need to invade other players’ dungeons and unleash the powers of the Hand of Evil™ in order to win. Your opponents will tremble in fear at the sight of your army and the force of your spells as you lay waste to their defenses and destroy their dungeons!

Filled with engaging graphics, explosive PvP and PvE gameplay, plus wicked wit, Dungeon Keeper will prove once again that it’s good to be bad.

This game will be coming to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch as well as Android devices later this winter.

For media visiting EA during gamescom, you can get your hands on this game as well as Heroes of Dragon Age and FIFA 14 for mobile at our briefing center.

You wouldn't believe how long i have been waiting for the return of Dungeon Keeper, and the idea of it being on IOS is GREAT news. The trend is definitely moving toward tablets as the Market is definitely there (PvZ2!!!) so i hope this will be a big hit too! - Thank you EA For me EA have been doing loads to improve their image, with their new returns policy and the Origin Humble bundle, Get some more of your PC games over as MAC ports like steam are doing and you have one very happy customer.

Sounds good! Will there also be a Windows Phone version? Otherwise I'll have to pass.

I also agree that after having tried to play it on my lunchbreak yesterday and a bit last night and this morning that the app isn't working for me. It's a farmville clone that limits how much you can actually do with timers, crippling timers, and doesn't offer much fun to sit down and play. You can feel the hope that the 10% of users who pay for in game currency are worth the time they put towards this. I am not spending anything myself and likely to delete it soon if it doesn't pick up.

Dungeon Keeper use to be one of my all time favorite games! I wish they make it for Steam so I can get it on my steam accounts as well as on my origin accounts as well. No idea what happened to my disks but this was an awesome game & honestly the only reason I thought of it is I was looking for flash games to download & found a game that looked just like it a rip of it really which is called Dungeon Overlord which is a free to play game. I have not yet tried it but that is what reminded me of it

EA ruins everything that it touches! They buy rights for great game series and screw them up the biggest possible way!!!

DK was my childhood from the gameplay itself to the tongue in cheek dialogue, Dungeon keeper was everything good about a game. The new game is surprisingly polished, with slick controls and simple gameplay and they haven't gimped on the humour either. However, if you download this game with hopes of experiencing the nostalgia of the original DK, you will probably be disappointed. The core gameplay follows the tower defence formula rather than the in depth dungeon building from old DK game
