EA SPORTS Football Club Season Round-Up: 13 November

Our office is awash with spreadsheets and exhausted statisticians, but thankfully we can present the winners and losers of the last season of EA SPORTS Football Club.

Big clubs doing well: While it's true some of the clubs with a large FIFA 12 fan following are struggling in the lower leagues, we also have a number of big clubs (with over 25,000 acknowledged fans in the game) doing very nicely thank you and sitting happily in the top league in their respective countries, such as: Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Rangers, Ajax, Chicago Fire and Celtic.

Notable relegations/promotions

  • BOTH Milan clubs relegated out of Serie A
  • Leyton Orient promoted to the English Premier League!
  • Vicenza promoted to Serie B
  • Olympique de Marseille although ranked 10th in our most-supported clubs, relegated out of French Ligue 1

Of the current top three in the real-world English Premier League...

  • Manchester City… stay in the Championship, just missing out on promotion in fourth spot.
  • Manchester United… stay in npower League 2
  • Newcastle relegated to the npower League 2 – after being relegated to League 1 just last week!

Lowest number of fans but still CHAMPIONS!

  • Sangju Sangmu Phoenix FC in Korea K-League (1) with 55 fans
  • Drogheda United in Rep. Ireland Airtricity League (1) with 90 fans
  • Ascoli in Serie A with 113 fans
